Music Farm/Columbia SC Show Rescheduled for FRIDAY NOVEMBER 7!

Most of you know that our Sept 5 "grand opening" show for the new Music Farm in the Vista in Columbia SC was postponed due to delays in opening the club...well, they finally opened in late September, and our show has been rescheduled for Friday, November 7, and the show will include The Occasional Milkshake (featuring Mark Bryan from Hootie and the Blowfish, along with Cravin Melon/Hootie's Gary Greene and our very own Hank Futch). Unfortunately, our friends the Archetypes could not make the show work out for that date. We will miss them, but look forward to rocking the capitol city on 11/7!

Thanks so much to all our fans who responded on social media, bought or attempted to buy tickets, and/or reserved hotel rooms. We hope you will be able to join us for the new date, and celebrate what we hear is a fantastic new venue in the midlands...and one Columbia has desperately needed for some time! 2nd Annual Homecoming Show Announced - TWO NIGHTS at the Charleston Music Hall

Dearest Dog People,

Many of you know that last December we had our 25th Anniversary show at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, SC with friends and special guests from Darius Rucker, Edwin McCain, Dan Lotti of Dangermuffin, Radney Foster, and many others. It was truly a night to remember. We had one of the greatest nights of our lives as musicians. It meant so much to us to have a full house, and then to have all these musicians and friends come out and spend the evening with us…it was incredible.

That very night, we decided that we had found the ANNUAL EVENT we have been searching for our whole career. We have always wanted to host a musical happening in Charleston that would be an annual homecoming of sorts…one that would allow us to hang out with other musicians and our families and friends and make some kind of special noise together.  Last year, 1,000 of our biggest fans helped make that come true.

So we are going to turn a milestone into a new beginning…our annual HOMECOMING show…except that this year, we were encouraged by the folks at the venue to turn the show into a TWO-NIGHT EVENT. So this year we'll be taking over the Charleston Music Hall for two special nights - December 27-28, 2014.

Plans are in the works for each night and we'll share those with you as details develop, but rest assured you’ll get plenty of Blue Dogs and as many special guests and special moments as we can bring onto the stage on those two evenings.

Tickets go on sale to the public Tuesday, July 22 - CLICK HERE to get your tickets. Last year's show sold out and this year's two-night event will certainly sell quickly!   We hope you will join us for these two very special nights in the heart of the Holy City with some of our most talented friends and guests!

NEXT UP: End of July Run in VA, DC, and NC

We are very much looking forward to a late July run that'll take us up to Culpeper VA, Washington DC, and back down to Raleigh NC. Hope to see a bunch of new and familiar faces in these great places. All 3 venues are new to the Blue Dogs - the beautiful and historic State Theatre has emerged from a $9m renovation, and it is gorgeous; Gypsy Sally's is the new and happening music venue in the Capitol City (and specializes in Americana); and this is our first show at Raleigh's Southland Ballroom!

Thursday, July 24 at The State Theatre - Culpeper, VA (click here for tickets) with Peyton Tochterman & Duke Merrick
Friday, July 25 at Gypsy Sally's - Washington, DC (click here for tickets) w/Scott Kurt & the Memphis 59
Saturday, July 26 at Southland Ballroom with Atlas Road Crew - Raleigh, NC (click here for tickets)

Keep an eye on the shows page for an ever-changing list of upcoming performances!

Photos from the 12/29 Anniversary Show!

There have been some cool audience photos and some video footage posted, along with some wonderful comments on our Facebook page. Click here to check 'em out!

We also had two wonderful professional photographers taking photos out in the house, on stage, and back stage.

Stephanie Smith has two galleries:

Part 2 HERE

Julie Rowe has a gallery HERE where you can scan through the photos which are marked "proof."

Both websites will allow those interested to buy copies of photos, or you can just browse. Thanks to Stephanie and Julie for doing an amazing job!

25th Anniversary Show at Charleston Music Hall

What an incredible night on Sunday, December 29! Thank you to all our fans who attended, and all of you who have been posting comments on Facebook etc. Most of all, thanks to all the amazing musicians who took time to come down and spend an evening with us, many of them singing our songs back to us:  all four members of Hootie and the Blowfish, Edwin McCain, Radney Foster, Dan Lotti, Danielle Howle, Doug Jones, Gary Greene, Mac Leaphart, John Satterfield, Tommy Dew, Kevin Wadley, Wallace Mullinax, Murray Baroody, and all of our Blue Dogs brethren past and present: Greg Walker, Jason Hawthorn, Daren Shumaker, Jamie Harper, Charlie Thompson, John Fussell, Parker Dewitt, Buck Bradberry, Phillip Lammonds, David Stewart, Evans Nicholson, Scotty Price.  We'd also like to thank our good friends in the crew who made it all happen:  Sandy Morgan, Wayne Slagle, Carlos Webb, Andrew Higdon, Lin Clegg, and the production manager of the whole thing, our friend Peter Jackson. For all of them, and the good folks at the Charleston Music Hall, we are so grateful. Pictures are surfacing on the internet, but we will also have our own photos, and audio, and video of the event to share in the near future. Happy New Year to all!
